1955 Hillegas Quarter Midget
" All Alluminun"
" Very Rare History"

Hillegas built less than a dozen of these superb quarter midgets in hammered aluminum and only four are known to have survived.

The number on the Hillegas plate refers to the Himmershitz #2.

The entire body is hand hammered aluminum and the fit and finish is superior. The tail cage, grille, grille guard, and wheel protectors are beautifully fabricated at the same quality level; as his "big" cars.

Power is provided by a modified 3/4 HP Briggs & Stratton engine.

The car is beautifully restored down to the last detail. Even the original starting strap and cockpit tonneau are included.

In the early 1930's the Indianapolis Motor Speedway commissioned both "Cannonball" Baker and Floyd "Pop" Dreyer to build Briggs & Stratton powered children's open wheel "Indianapolis" racers.

On the Wednesday before the 500, an "oval" was set up on the main straightaway of the Speedway for an afternoon of racing for 33 very special and lucky kids.

This particular car is the only surviving all original example. It is one of the Cannonball Baker cars, (rarer and better built than a Dreyer).
